TLDR Using both oral herbal supplements and hair tonic together works better for hair growth than using just the tonic.
In 2012, a study was conducted on seven-week-old C57BL/6 mice to investigate the combined effect of an oral herbal composition and a topical hair tonic on hair growth. The mice were shaved and then treated with either the oral herbal composition, the topical hair tonic, or a combination of both. The combination treatment resulted in the highest hair growth promotion. It also significantly improved total blood antioxidant capacity and reduced lipid peroxidation and triglyceride levels, effects not observed in the group treated with only the topical hair tonic. This suggests that the combination of oral herbal composition and topical hair tonic has a synergistic effect on hair growth, possibly due to different hair regrowth mechanisms involved in the treatments.
