TLDR Black soybean extract helps promote hair growth and could prevent hair loss.
The study conducted 12 years ago evaluated the hair growth promoting effect of black soybean (Glycine max: BB) both in vitro and in vivo. It was observed that BB significantly stimulated dermal papillae and NIH3T3 cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. In a shaving model of C57BL/6 mice, BB markedly promoted hair growth and also improved blood total antioxidant capacity while reducing lipid peroxidation and triglyceride level. These results suggested that BB has a hair growth promoting effect and could be a potent candidate for the prevention of hair loss.
