TLDR Combining oral and topical treatments improves hair growth more than using either alone.
The 2012 study investigated the synergistic effects of combining an oral herbal composition and a topical hair tonic on hair growth in C57BL6 mice. The results showed that either consuming the oral herbal composition or applying the topical hair tonic induced similar effects in promoting hair growth by inducing anagen hair follicles. However, when these two methods were combined, the hair growth effect was significantly enhanced. This increase was attributed to the improvement in blood indicators by the oral composition, which was not observed with the topical tonic. The study concluded that the combination of oral and topical treatments could provide a more effective approach to hair loss treatment.
