TLDR The 3% bidara leaf extract hair tonic was most effective for hair growth.
The study evaluated hair tonic formulations using ethanolic extract of bidara leaves (Ziziphus nummularia) at 3%, 6%, and 12% concentrations on rabbit hair growth. Conducted at Garut University from March 2020 to March 2021, the formulations were compared to distilled water (negative control) and 2% minoxidil (positive control). All formulations had consistent characteristics and were non-irritating. The 3% extract formula was the most effective, stimulating hair growth up to 10.67 mm in 28 days, outperforming both the control and 2% minoxidil.
