TLDR PRP improves hair transplant results in androgenetic alopecia patients.
This study examined the impact of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on hair transplantation outcomes in 30 patients with androgenetic alopecia. Participants were split into two groups: 15 received PRP injections during the procedure, while 15 did not. The PRP group demonstrated significantly higher follicle survival rates at 3 and 6 months post-surgery (88.42% and 82.17%) compared to the control group (78.24% and 74.01%). Additionally, the PRP group experienced faster initial hair growth and stronger hair. These results suggest that PRP can improve hair transplantation outcomes in AGA patients, though further research is needed to standardize PRP preparation and optimize its use.
