This study reports on four cases of women with hyperandrogenism who experienced hair loss and were treated with finasteride, a type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. All four patients showed improvement in hair density and hirsutism after taking finasteride for 6 months to 2.5 years. The study suggests that finasteride treatment can improve pattern hair loss in women with hyperandrogenism.
