TLDR PRP injections did not significantly improve hair growth in men with androgenetic alopecia.
This study evaluated the efficacy of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections as an adjuvant treatment with topical minoxidil in 27 male patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Patients received PRP on one half of the scalp and normal saline (placebo) on the other half. Hair density increased significantly in both PRP-treated and saline-treated areas, but the difference between the two was not statistically significant (P = 0.964). The study concluded that intradermal PRP and normal saline injections have similar effects when used alongside minoxidil in treating AGA.
