TLDR Combining PRP with CGF is more effective for hair regrowth in androgenetic alopecia than PRP alone.
This study investigated the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) alone versus PRP combined with concentrated growth factor (CGF) in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in a split-scalp trial involving 20 patients. The results showed that both treatments led to significant hair regrowth, but the combination of PRP and CGF (Site II) was more effective, with greater increases in hair count and density, higher patient satisfaction, and better hair pull test outcomes compared to PRP alone (Site I). The study suggests that PRP combined with CGF offers a superior non-surgical treatment option for AGA, though further long-term studies are recommended for optimizing the treatment protocol.
