TLDR Melanocyte stem cells hold promise for skin regeneration and treating pigmentation issues.
Melanocyte stem cells (McSCs) are crucial for skin pigmentation and repair, with dysfunctions linked to conditions like vitiligo and hair greying. While significant progress has been made in understanding McSCs, a full grasp of their role in melanocyte dysfunctions is still needed. Advanced technologies have enhanced our knowledge of McSC biology, revealing their potential in regenerative medicine for skin repigmentation, tissue repair, and cancer treatment. This review highlights the promise of McSCs in developing transformative therapies for skin regeneration and broader regenerative applications.
