TLDR LncRNA MTC boosts growth of goat skin cells, improving cashmere quality.
The study investigates the role of LncRNA MTC in enhancing the proliferation of Liaoning cashmere goat skin fibroblasts, which is crucial for improving cashmere quality. Overexpression of LncRNA MTC significantly increased cell proliferation, while its interference suppressed it. The research revealed that melatonin treatment enhances the binding of LncRNA MTC to GSTM1, and this interaction was confirmed through RNA immunoprecipitation. Interfering with GSTM1 reversed the proliferative effects of melatonin. Additionally, GSTM1 was found to associate with ASK1, suggesting that the LncRNA MTC-GSTM1 interaction inhibits apoptosis in these fibroblasts, thereby promoting cashmere growth.
