TLDR A new botanical treatment improved hair growth and symptoms in lichen planopilaris patients.
A case series of four patients with biopsy-proven lichen planopilaris (LPP) treated with a novel botanical formulation (Dr. UGro Gashee) showed promising results. The patients, who had previously failed conventional treatments, experienced significant improvement in hair growth, cessation of disease progression, and resolution of symptoms such as scalp itch, tenderness, and irritation. The treatment, administered topically or in combination with its oral form, was used for 6 weeks to 9.5 months and resulted in high patient satisfaction with no adverse effects. This study suggests that the botanical formulation could be a safer and more effective alternative for LPP, warranting further evaluation in larger controlled trials.
