This retrospective medical record review described four patients with lichen planopilaris (LPP) treated with low-dose (3 mg/day) naltrexone. The treatment provided benefits such as reduced symptoms of pruritus, decreased clinical evidence of scalp inflammation, and slowed disease progression. All patients tolerated the medication without adverse effects, making it a well-tolerated and cost-effective option. This was the first case series to demonstrate the beneficial effects of low-dose naltrexone for LPP.
