TLDR Robotic hair transplants are easier and quicker to learn than traditional methods.
This study compared robotic hair restoration technology (ARTAS) with traditional Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) in 13 male patients with androgenetic alopecia. ARTAS showed a higher discard rate of 10.71% compared to 5.46% for FUE, indicating more unusable hair follicles after extraction. The transection rate was slightly lower for ARTAS at 13.17% compared to 13.96% for FUE, though not statistically significant. FUE had a higher yield rate of 90.03% versus 82.05% for ARTAS. Both methods were similarly effective in terms of hair regrowth and patient satisfaction after 12 months, with no significant side effects. The study suggests further refinement of robotic systems to improve efficiency in hair transplantation.

A user is excited about scheduling a hair transplant for July 1st, after 2 years of using Minoxidil, finasteride, and RU58841 with no regrowth. The transplant will cost €2500-€3000 for 1000-1200 grafts, and the user chose to have it done locally rather than traveling abroad to save money.

Use finasteride, minoxidil, and dutasteride for hair loss, with micro-needling as an additional option. Consider a hair transplant if unsatisfied, and avoid unproven treatments like RU58841.
