TLDR A new method accurately measures Finasteride and Tamsulosin in tablets.
The study developed a new RP-HPLC method for simultaneously estimating Finasteride and Tamsulosin Hydrochloride in bulk and tablet forms. The method used a Symmetry C18 column with UV detection at 245 nm, achieving good resolution with retention times of 2.325 and 4.296 minutes for Finasteride and Tamsulosin Hydrochloride, respectively. It demonstrated a linear response for Finasteride (62-312 µg/mL) and Tamsulosin Hydrochloride (5-25 µg/mL) with high precision (r>0.999). The method's lower limits of quantification and detection were 9.95 and 2.95 for Finasteride, and 9.91 and 2.97 for Tamsulosin Hydrochloride. Validation followed ICH guidelines, suggesting the method's utility for routine pharmaceutical analysis.
