TLDR A reliable method was developed to measure Minoxidil and Finasteride accurately in medicines.
A study developed a specific and sensitive RP-HPLC method for the simultaneous quantification of Minoxidil and Finasteride in bulk and pharmaceutical forms. Using a Phenomenex C18 column and a Methanol: Water (85:15 v/v) mobile phase, the method achieved reliable, precise, and accurate results. The retention times were 3.15 minutes for Minoxidil and 4.36 minutes for Finasteride, with linearity ranges of 6-54 µg/mL and 0.2-1.8 µg/mL, respectively. The method demonstrated high recovery rates of 99.88-100.85% for Minoxidil and 99.99-100.33% for Finasteride, indicating its potential for qualitative and quantitative applications in pharmaceutical analysis.
