TLDR SVF may improve nanofat treatment for acne scars, but more research is needed.
This study investigated the efficacy and safety of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) in treating nanofat-treated acne scars in a randomized, single-blinded clinical trial with 7 patients. The trial compared nanofat alone versus nanofat combined with SVF on different sides of the face. The combination treatment led to improvements in scar size, dermal thickness, and acne scar grade, with higher satisfaction levels among physicians and patients. However, by the third month, no significant differences were observed between the injected and control sides in sonographic variables. The study concluded that SVF could enhance the therapeutic effects of nanofat in acne scar treatment, but the small sample size limited the strength of the findings, and further research with a larger sample size was recommended.
