TLDR The regenerative solution, tSVF, is a safe and effective treatment for various conditions like aged skin, scars, wounds, and more, but more research is needed to find the best way to use it.
In 2020, a systematic review of 35 studies involving 1458 patients was conducted on the use of mechanically isolated stromal vascular fraction (tSVF), a regenerative solution, for treating various pathologies. The therapy was used for 11 different conditions, including aged skin, scars, wounds, osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, temporomandibular joint disorders, androgenic alopecia, perianal fistula, vasculopathy, migraine, and vocal fold scarring. The therapy resulted in favorable clinical results across all studies, with 50 minor and one major adverse events, mainly related to the liposuction procedure. In the case of androgenic alopecia, significantly higher hair density was observed post-injection at six and 12 weeks in the treated area for all patients, with an average improvement of 30.7 hairs per cm². The review concluded that tSVF offers a safe, easy, and legal treatment modality for a range of indications, but suggested further research to identify the optimal isolation protocol, dose, and timing.
