TLDR Platelet-rich plasma can potentially improve hair regeneration by increasing follicular gene expression and hair growth activity.
Three years ago, a study was conducted to examine the impact of platelet-rich plasma releasate (PRPr) on the development and hair growth activity of hair follicle germs (HFGs). The research found that PRPr did not obstruct the formation of HFGs and actually increased follicular gene expression. Additionally, the hair regeneration ability was significantly improved with PRPr. Three key growth factors in PRPr - platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF2), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) - were identified as contributing to this improvement. The study concluded that PRPr, which can be obtained from the patient's own blood, could potentially enhance the efficiency of hair regeneration in clinical applications.

Someone's brother tried Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for hair loss; it had minimal effect on hair but improved skin appearance. Microneedling at home was suggested as a more sustainable alternative.
