TLDR Lack of Ctip2 in skin cells delays wound healing and disrupts hair follicle stem cell markers in mice.
The study investigated the role of Ctip2 in cutaneous wound healing and hair follicle stem cell marker expression in mice lacking Ctip2 in the epidermis (Ctip2ep−/−). The results showed that these mice exhibited delayed wound healing, reduced keratinocyte migration, and aberrant expression of several hair follicle stem cell markers, including K15, NFATc1, CD34, and CD133. The findings suggested that Ctip2 played a crucial role in skin regeneration and hair follicle stem cell function, highlighting its importance in keratinocyte proliferation, migration, and signaling pathways during wound repair.

Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) impacts various skin conditions, including Androgenetic alopecia and seborrheic dermatitis, by causing overactivity in sebaceous glands. Topical medications Tacrolimus and Clobetasol can reduce these inflammatory conditions, and treatments like RU58841, Minoxidil, and Finasteride may also be beneficial.

They are considering if finasteride alone is sufficient and are hesitant to use minoxidil due to a pre-existing condition, while another person suggests trying dutasteride.
