TLDR A patient with total hair loss developed vitiligo after using a treatment called DCP.
This document reported a case where a patient with alopecia universalis developed vitiligo after treatment with diphenylcyclopropenone (DCP). Both alopecia areata and vitiligo are autoimmune diseases that often co-occur and share many susceptibility genes. The use of DCP, a common treatment for alopecia areata, was noted to potentially induce vitiligo, suggesting a link through follicular melanocyte destruction.
