TLDR The new 5% minoxidil foam is as effective and safe as Rogaine® for treating hair loss in Chinese men.
The study compared a new 5% minoxidil foam (NMF) with Rogaine® in 417 Chinese men with androgenetic alopecia over 24 weeks. Both treatments showed similar increases in hair density and diameter, with no significant differences in nonvellus target area hair counts, hair diameter, terminal to vellus hair ratio, global photographic assessments, or adverse events. The results indicate that 5% NMF is as effective and safe as Rogaine® for AGA treatment, suggesting it could be a more accessible and economical option in China.
