TLDR The YH complex, made from certain plant extracts, effectively promotes hair regrowth and could be a potential treatment for hair loss.
The research article discusses a study on the effects of the YH complex, composed of Cinnamomum cassia and Astragalus membranaceus, on androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in mice. The study found that the YH complex significantly promoted hair regrowth in AGA mice, with histological recovery observed in the size and shape of hair follicles. The YH complex was found to regulate the hair development cycle by inhibiting the androgenic-apoptotic axis, with the expressions of 5α-reductase and TGF-β significantly decreased in the dorsal skin tissues of YH complex-treated mice. The antiapoptotic Bcl-2/Bax ratio was upregulated, while caspase activation was downregulated by treatment with the YH complex. The study concludes that the YH complex could be a potent therapeutic agent for alopecia.
