TLDR Women with type D personality and PCOS experience more stress and use less effective coping strategies.
The study examined 146 Polish women aged 18-45 with androgenetic alopecia and PCOS, finding that 45% had type D personality, which was linked to higher stress levels and more frequent use of dysfunctional coping strategies like avoidance. While most women reported high stress levels and commonly used active and supportive coping strategies, the severity of alopecia did not correlate with personality type or stress levels but was related to specific coping strategies. The study underscores the psychological impact of these conditions and suggests the need for targeted psychological support.
