TLDR Combination therapies work better than single treatments for hair loss.
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of combination therapies for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) compared to monotherapy. The study found that combination therapies consisting of minoxidil with finasteride, low-level laser light therapy (LLLT), or microneedling were superior to minoxidil monotherapy in terms of global photographic assessment and hair count increase. The study suggests that combination therapy could be an effective, safe, and promising option for the treatment of AGA, but more randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm its efficacy.
