TLDR Fat stem cell treatment is safe and increases hair density for hair loss, but more research is needed.
The systematic review conducted in October 2022 analyzed 9 scientific publications discussing the treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) with Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) or adipose stem cells. The studies reported no serious adverse events and a significant increase in hair density following SVF treatment. Two studies also noted a significant improvement in the pull test, and an increase in hair diameter was observed post-treatment. Combining medical therapy with SVF was found to be beneficial. Despite these promising initial results, further research is needed to establish a systematic research method and create uniform treatment protocols.
