TLDR Sinapic acid may help fight obesity and promote hair growth.
The study found that sinapic acid promoted the browning of 3T3-L1 adipocytes by activating the AMPK, p38 MAPK, and CREB pathways, leading to increased expression of thermogenic and beige-specific genes. This process enhanced mitochondrial biogenesis and function, suggesting sinapic acid as a potential anti-obesity agent. It was effective at lower concentrations than other similar compounds, potentially reducing side effects. Additionally, sinapic acid showed promise in promoting hair growth in human hair follicle dermal papilla cells, indicating its varied mechanism of action across different cell types.
