TLDR Women with female pattern hair loss have lower Vitamin D3 levels.
The study investigated serum Vitamin D3 levels in 45 women with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) compared to 45 healthy controls. Results showed that FPHL patients had significantly lower mean serum Vitamin D3 levels (13.45 ng/mL) than the control group (17.16 ng/mL) with a P-value of 0.04. This suggested a potential link between Vitamin D3 deficiency and FPHL, recommending that Vitamin D3 levels be evaluated in these patients and considering Vitamin D3 supplements as a potential treatment.
