TLDR Most women with female pattern hair loss have low vitamin D levels.
The study investigated the incidence of vitamin D deficiency in 163 female patients with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) at a tertiary care hospital in Karachi. The results indicated that 73% of the patients were vitamin D deficient, 22.1% were insufficient, and only 4.9% had sufficient levels of vitamin D. The study found a significant association between vitamin D deficiency and factors such as education status, vitamin D intake over the past 6 months, and socioeconomic status. The findings suggested a high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency among women with FPHL.
