TLDR PRP therapy is effective for hair regrowth and improving hair quality with minimal side effects.
The document from 5 years ago discussed the use of Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy in cosmetic dermatology, trichology, and hair transplant. PRP therapy, which uses the body's own cells to restore normal function, was found to stimulate new follicular development and promote neovascularization in Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) patients. Studies involving a total of 91 AGA patients showed significant improvement in hair growth, reduction in hair loss, and improved hair quality after PRP treatment. PRP was also found effective in treating alopecia areata, with studies involving 65 patients showing increased hair regrowth and decreased hair dystrophy and burning or itching sensation. The document concluded that PRP therapy is a promising form of regenerative medicine with minimal side effects, beneficial for facial rejuvenation, burn and scar removal, and hair strengthening and regrowth.

Key treatments for hair preservation include minoxidil, finasteride/dutasteride, and microneedling, with additional options like specific shampoos, oils, biotin, zinc, tretinoin, clascoterone, and low-level laser therapy. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, reducing stress, and addressing nutrient deficiencies can also support hair health.
