Dermatologists play a crucial role, with treatment options including lifestyle modifications, topical therapies, combined oral contraceptives (COCPs), antiandrogen agents, and insulin-sensitizing drugs. COCPs, especially those with low or antiandrogenic progestins, were recommended as first-line treatments for hirsutism, with spironolactone as an adjunct. Studies showed that combining treatments often yielded better results than monotherapy. The review highlighted the need for individualized treatment plans and more extensive research to improve PCOS management.
