TLDR Longer 3 mm needles were most effective for dog hair regrowth, but hair loss often returned and some dogs felt itchy.
The study investigated the optimal microneedle length for hair regrowth in six dogs with hair cycle arrest (HCA). Three needle lengths (1 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm) were tested on different sections of alopecic sites. Results showed that 3 mm needles led to hair regrowth in all treated sections after 3 months, while 2 mm needles were less effective, and 1 mm needles showed minimal efficacy. Two dogs experienced transient pruritus, and five dogs had recurrent hair loss between 5 and 16 months. The study concluded that longer needles are more effective for stimulating hair regrowth in dogs with HCA, although alopecia relapse and minor pruritus are potential side effects.

A study that outlines the full model for androgenic alopecia (AGA) which links DHT to cellular senescence in dermal papilla cells, and suggests black chokeberry as a source of cyanidin 3-O-arabinoside polyphenol with potential anti-oxidant properties that could reverse this process. The post encourages reaching out to experts in anti-aging and longevity to research treatments involving the polyphenol.

A 26-year-old with extreme male pattern baldness saw hair regrowth after 6 months using Minoxidil, Finasteride, microneedling, Nizoral, a vitamin complex, biotin, and a shampoo with baicapil. Continuation of treatment is necessary to maintain results; stopping may lead to hair loss, making a hair transplant a potential future option.
