TLDR Micro-needling effectively improves wrinkles, scars, and hair growth, but proper technique and safety are important.
This document summarizes several studies on the use of micro-needling (MN) for various aesthetic concerns, including wrinkles, scars, and hair growth. The studies found that MN can penetrate to depths of up to 1275 μm and can effectively distribute pigment particles and platelets. Patients treated with MN alone or in combination therapy demonstrated statistically significant improvements in various aesthetic concerns, including wrinkles, lax skin, hypertrophic scars, acne scars, crepey skin, and striae. The studies suggest that micro-needling can be a safe and effective treatment for various aesthetic concerns, but further investigations are needed to confirm these initial findings. Proper technique and safety considerations are also important when performing micro-needling procedures.
