Effects of Natural Products on Skin Inflammation Caused by Abnormal Hormones Secreted by the Adrenal Gland

The adrenal gland produces various hormones that regulate essential bodily functions, and imbalances in these hormones can lead to diseases like Addison’s disease and Cushing’s syndrome, which often result in skin abnormalities. Natural products have shown potential in mitigating skin disorders by reducing inflammation through MAPK or PI3K/AKT-dependent NF-κB pathways and promoting wound healing by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinase-9. A systematic review of literature from databases such as PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane library suggests that natural products could be a promising treatment for skin inflammation caused by abnormal adrenal hormone secretion.
