TLDR Natural products may help treat skin inflammation from abnormal adrenal hormones.
The review article discusses the impact of natural products on skin inflammation caused by abnormal hormone secretion from the adrenal gland. It highlights that hormones like glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, and androgens are crucial for various physiological functions, and their abnormal secretion can lead to skin disorders such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, hirsutism, and androgenic alopecia. Natural products, including curcumin, escin, β-carotene, ginsenosides, diosgenin, glycyrrhizic acid, glycyrrhetinic acid, artemisinin, and dihydroartemisinin, have shown potential in reducing skin inflammation by inhibiting pathways like MAPK, PI3K/AKT-dependent NF-κB, and promoting wound healing. These compounds offer promising therapeutic benefits with fewer adverse effects compared to conventional drugs, suggesting potential alternative treatments for skin inflammation caused by hormonal imbalances.

Hair loss is linked to cellular physiology and the IGF-1 to TGF-B1 ratio, not just androgen sensitivity. The theory lacks evidence, while finasteride and minoxidil are effective treatments.

The conversation discusses seeking a stronger treatment than Dutasteride (DUT) for hair loss. Suggestions include combining DUT with RU58841, increasing DUT dosage, and using transgender hormone replacement therapy or testosterone blockers, though some options may have feminizing side effects.
