TLDR Latanoprost-loaded nanotransfersomes could help treat hair loss by promoting hair growth.
The study developed latanoprost-loaded nanotransfersomes for scalp administration to enhance keratinocyte proliferation, aiming to treat hair disorders like alopecia. These nanotransfersomes, characterized by their small size (<100 nm) and stability, significantly improved drug delivery and skin penetration. Encapsulated latanoprost notably increased keratinocyte proliferation via the MAPK and PI3K pathways, unlike free latanoprost. The findings suggest that latanoprost-loaded nanotransfersomes could be a promising approach for promoting hair growth and treating alopecia.
