TLDR Latanoprost effectively and safely promotes eyelash growth.
This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of latanoprost for eyelash growth in a 3-month, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study with 30 healthy volunteers. Participants applied a transparent mascara vehicle, with the latanoprost group receiving 0.005% latanoprost and the placebo group receiving only the vehicle. The latanoprost group experienced significant eyelash lengthening and darkening, while the placebo group showed no changes. Intraocular pressures remained normal, and no side effects or ophthalmic issues were reported. The study concludes that latanoprost is effective and safe for stimulating eyelash growth.
