TLDR Latanoprost effectively and safely promotes eyelash growth.
This pilot study assessed the efficacy and safety of latanoprost for eyelash growth in 30 healthy female volunteers over 3 months. Participants were divided into two groups, with 15 receiving 0.005% latanoprost and 15 receiving a placebo. The latanoprost group experienced significant eyelash growth and color change, with increases of up to 46% for the right eyelash and 43% for the left eyelash, and a 23% increase in color intensity by the second month. No adverse effects or changes in intraocular pressure were reported, indicating that latanoprost is effective and safe for enhancing eyelash length and pigmentation. Future research will aim to include more participants and male subjects.
