TLDR No clear link between specific gene and hair loss in Mexican brothers.
This study investigated the possible correlation between CAG/GGC haplotypes of the androgen receptor gene and androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in Mexican brothers. The study found no evidence of linkage disequilibrium or correlation between the CAG/GGC haplotypes of the AR gene and AGA in Mexican brothers. The study concluded that familial predisposition to AGA may not be solely due to genetic factors. The study supports the idea that AGA is not caused by a single gene variant, but rather has a multifactorial etiology involving gene-gene interactions and environmental factors.
