TLDR G allele of AR Stul polymorphism linked to higher hair loss risk, especially in white people.
This meta-analysis examined the association between androgen receptor gene polymorphisms and androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study found that the G allele of the AR Stul polymorphism may be a potential risk factor for AGA, especially in white populations. However, the CAG and GGC triplet-repeat polymorphisms of the AR gene did not have any obvious association with risk for AGA. The study suggests that further large studies with adequate methodological quality are necessary to obtain valid results.
