TLDR AR polyglycine repeat doesn't cause baldness.
This 2007 study investigated the relationship between baldness and the androgen receptor (AR) polyglycine repeat polymorphism. The study found that the AR polyglycine repeat polymorphism does not confer susceptibility to androgenetic alopecia (AGA), and that other variations in or around AR may be contributing to the phenotype of AGA. The study suggests that further analysis and understanding of the importance of non-coding sequence in this region is required in order to identify variation that may be functionally relevant to the heritability of male pattern baldness.
