TLDR Hair loss gene found on chromosome 3q26.
This study conducted a genome-wide scan and fine-mapping linkage study to identify genetic loci associated with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study found evidence for multiple genes contributing to AGA susceptibility, with a significant locus identified on chromosome 3q26. The study suggests that genetic factors play a significant role in the development of AGA. The study provides a first step towards identifying new genes contributing to the development of early onset AGA.
