TLDR Vitamin C derivative reduces hair loss-related protein in cells.
The study explored the effects of L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (Asc 2-P) on the production of dickkopf-1 (DKK-1), which is associated with hair loss, in human balding dermal papilla cells (DPCs) when exposed to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The results showed that Asc 2-P reduced the levels of DKK-1 mRNA and protein induced by DHT, as determined by RT-PCR and ELISA. Furthermore, Asc 2-P inhibited the activation of a DKK-1 promoter-driven luciferase reporter gene by DHT. These outcomes indicate that Asc 2-P or its derivatives could potentially be useful in treating and preventing hair loss caused by androgens. The study was conducted on cells, not live subjects, and does not specify the number of individuals from whom the cells were derived.

The conversation is about using vitamin C and Magnesium L-Threonate for hair growth by reducing DHT binding to dermal papilla cells. The original post about vitamin C's pH levels and sebum control was possibly removed by a moderator.

community I am actually regrowing my hairline without minoxidil or finasteride (mechanical stimulation)

       128 upvotes 6 years ago
Regrowing hairline without the use of Minoxidil or Finasteride, and instead using mechanical stimulation such as Derma Roller, Nizoral, Zinc Pyrithione, Scalp Massage, Scalp Exercise, Fish Oil and other topical solutions. It is cautioned that there are risks associated with not using medically-prescribed treatments, but it is suggested to consider mechanical stimulation in addition to those prescribed treatments.

There is no natural way to stop hair loss; pharmaceuticals like minoxidil, finasteride, and RU58841 are the only effective treatments. Some users report success with minoxidil and microneedling, while others discuss the side effects of finasteride.
