Association of Hypertension and Hyperaldosteronism with Androgenetic Alopecia in Male Patients: Case Control Study

This case-control study investigated the association between androgenetic alopecia (AGA), hypertension, and hyperaldosteronism in a Saudi Arabian male population. Involving 20 males with AGA and 20 healthy controls, the study measured blood pressure and serum aldosterone levels. The results showed no significant differences in aldosterone levels, systolic blood pressure, or diastolic blood pressure between the two groups. The findings do not support the hypothesis that AGA is associated with higher risks of hypertension or hyperaldosteronism, aligning with other studies that question this link. Further research is needed to explore the relationship between AGA and systemic health.
