TLDR Rosemary hair lotion significantly promotes hair growth and could be a potential alternative to commercial hair growth products.
The study evaluated a 1% hair lotion formulated with a methanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) for its hair growth promoting activity on C57BL/6 mice. The extract, derived from the aerial parts of the plant, contained proteins, amino acids, fats and oils, steroids, glycosides, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, volatile oil, and vitamins. The lotion was tested against a control group (water) and a standard 2% minoxidil hair lotion. The results showed that the 1% herbal hair lotion significantly promoted hair growth more than the standard drug-treated animals. The study concluded that this formulation could be a potential alternative to commercially available hair growth promoters, which often have unwanted effects.
