TLDR Exosome therapy can safely and effectively restore color to gray hair.
This study explored the potential of exosome-based therapy to induce hair repigmentation in 10 patients with graying hair, primarily of Asian ethnicity and around 58.6 years old. Participants underwent an average of 4.6 treatment sessions, with methods like microneedling and jet-based transdermal delivery. Results indicated progressive repigmentation, with 60% of patients achieving moderate to marked improvement, and no adverse effects reported. The therapy may reactivate melanocyte stem cells, but the study's small sample size and lack of a control group limit its conclusions. Further research with larger samples is needed to validate these promising findings.
