TLDR Exosome therapy can safely and effectively restore color to gray hair.
This study investigated the effects of exosome-based therapy on hair repigmentation in 10 patients with gray hair. The treatment, using rose stem cell-derived exosomes, showed promising results, with repigmentation observed after an average of 2.4 sessions and maintained for about 4.7 months. A mean outcome score of 2.8 indicated that 60% of participants experienced significant improvement. Factors such as shorter duration of graying, presence of androgenetic alopecia, and moderate baseline severity were linked to better outcomes. No adverse events were reported, suggesting that exosome therapy is a safe and effective method for hair repigmentation, though larger studies are needed for further validation.
