TLDR Exosome therapy with microneedling effectively increases hair density in men with androgenetic alopecia.
This prospective study investigated the effectiveness of exosome therapy combined with microneedling for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 16 male patients aged 36-45 years. The results showed a significant increase in hair density, with an average gain of 35 hairs/cm² at the 12-month follow-up. Patient satisfaction was high, with 80% reporting noticeable improvements and 87% expressing satisfaction with the results. Mild side effects, such as scalp tenderness and slight irritation, were noted but resolved within 48 hours. The study concludes that exosome therapy with microneedling is a promising non-surgical treatment for AGA, though further research with larger samples and longer follow-up is needed to confirm long-term efficacy.
