TLDR Exosomes and laser therapy can help regrow and repigment hair.
The study explores the use of topical exosomes and fractional picosecond laser (FPL) therapy for treating poliosis circumscripta in a patient with androgenetic alopecia. After initial treatments, the patient experienced hair thickening and repigmentation, although some regression was noted. Following three additional sessions, significant hair regrowth and repigmentation were observed, with increased black hair density. The study highlights the role of exosomes in stimulating melanocyte proliferation and melanin synthesis, identifying specific microRNAs that enhance melanogenesis. While acknowledging limitations, the study suggests that the combination of exosomes and FPL therapy is promising for hair repigmentation, with ongoing research needed to further understand their therapeutic potential.
