TLDR Exosomes and laser therapy can help regrow and repigment hair.
The study explores the effectiveness of combining exosome therapy with fractional picosecond laser (FPL) for treating poliosis circumscripta and androgenetic alopecia (AGA). After initial treatments, the patient experienced hair thickening and repigmentation, although some regression was noted. Following three additional sessions, significant hair regrowth and repigmentation were observed, with increased black hair density. The study highlights the role of exosomes in stimulating melanocyte proliferation and melanin synthesis, particularly through specific microRNAs. While the results are promising, the study acknowledges limitations such as potential spontaneous repigmentation and the influence of concurrent FPL therapy. Further research is needed to understand the therapeutic potential of exosomes in treating hypopigmentary conditions.
