TLDR Young Indians with premature graying often have lower levels of certain nutrients and unhealthy lifestyles.
The study investigated factors associated with premature hair graying (PHG) in a young Indian population through a case-control study involving 74 participants. It found that individuals with PHG had significantly lower levels of serum ferritin, Vitamin B12, and HDL-C compared to controls (P < 0.001). Additionally, a sedentary lifestyle and irregular eating habits were more common among those with PHG. The study suggested that while these associations are significant, larger sample sizes are needed to conclusively define these relationships.
