TLDR N,N-Dimethylglycine Sodium Salt helps reduce skin inflammation and improves skin cell growth and healing.
The study found that N,N-Dimethylglycine Sodium Salt (DMG-Na), a naturally occurring compound, has significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects in various dermatitis models, including psoriasis and UVB irradiation-induced solar dermatitis. It also promotes the proliferation, migration, and release of growth factors in human epidermal keratinocytes, which are the primary type of cell found in the outermost layer of the skin. DMG-Na was found to inhibit the upregulation of inflammatory cytokines and prevent the production of reactive oxygen species induced by UVB irradiation. The study suggests that DMG-Na could potentially be used to treat inflammatory skin conditions, promote skin and hair health, and aid in wound healing. Further studies are being conducted to confirm these findings.
