TLDR DMG-Na may help reduce hair loss and improve hair growth, but more research is needed.
The study explores the potential of N,N-dimethylglycine sodium salt (DMG-Na) to enhance skin microcirculation through nitric oxide (NO)-mediated vasodilation, which could benefit conditions like androgenetic alopecia (AGA). In vitro and in vivo experiments, including a trial with 20 healthy volunteers, showed that topical DMG-Na increased dermal blood flow. Preliminary clinical trials with 462 participants indicated that DMG-Na formulations might reduce hair loss and improve hair parameters, though these findings await peer review. While DMG-Na shows promise, further rigorous studies are needed to confirm its efficacy and safety in AGA treatment.
