TLDR Finasteride and metformin both help treat PCOS, but using them together works best.
This study compared the effectiveness of finasteride, metformin, and a combination of both in treating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The results showed that all three treatments were effective in reducing hirsutism scores, androgen levels, and insulin resistance. However, the combination of finasteride and metformin was found to be the most effective in reducing androgen levels and improving insulin resistance. The study suggests that monotherapy regimens are effective in most patients, but combinations of two drugs with different mechanisms of action may be superior.
