TLDR Early hair greying may increase the risk of heart disease.
The study examined cardiovascular risk markers in 40 patients with premature canities compared to 40 healthy controls, finding that those with early hair greying had higher blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, serum insulin, hs-CRP, and HOMA-IR, with lower HDL levels. Elevated IL-6 levels were also more common in these patients, suggesting an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. The study recommended screening and counseling to prevent cardiovascular events, despite limitations such as a small sample size and subjective assessment of canities severity.
